WERFT 11, the new gallery for art and design in Rheinauhafen presents the exhibition “ELEMENTARY”. Product designs from dmbh_network for design, furniture objects from Walter Schmalen and new jewellery and sculptures from Günter Wermekes will be on display. Intelligent product design, reduced furniture design and ornamental-architecture will enter into an inspiring dialogue with the new rooms on the Rhine.

The European design network dmbh presents purist accessories for the fireplace and hearth from Anke Bernotat, dmbh amsterdam, for the fabricator Baest. Stefan Maas from dmbh cologne presents his minimalist multi-function lamp “Tourist” with new colours and surfaces as well as a clothes hanger based on the leaf spring principle.

The Cologne designer Walter Schmalen presents an armchair reduced to two interlaced surfaces and also a sideboard. His furniture and room objects are crafted with clear forms and have a sculptural character. The attraction of his work is evoked by the combination of the lively structures of the selected materials.

The renowned designer Günter Wermekes surprises at PASSAGEN with sculptural metal objects which combine architectural configurations with precious details. With a leap over dimensions to micro architecture, the design and artistic aspects are fathomed until the core of the statement emerges.
