Galerie Werft 11 follows the spirit of its location in Cologne’s historic dockyards. What was once a place of commerce is now a meeting place of cultures. Combing approaches from art, design, and their bordering disciplines, the gallery has created a unique concept all its own.
The pleated works of Danish textile artist Thea Bjerg lie at the border between fashion and jewelry. Sculpture-like, they rely on Bjerg’s expert handwork and use of modern laser technology.
The life-size wood figures from Peter Nettesheim thematize mobility. Carved from single wood pieces, the figures represent experienced and imagined reality.
Günter Wermekes creates pieces of jewelry whose value lies chiefly in their design. They combine stainless steel, something which can be measured at most against its practical value, with the most beautiful and valuable that we know: the brilliant.
