For its second exhibition Galerie Werft 11 shows everyday objects in non-everyday forms and materials.
Anke Hennig’s extraordinary works explore the border between textile and jewelry using traditional techniques and modern materials.
Pia Schmalen’s felt and marzipan rings are made of materials usually found outside jewelry design. She produces her colorful, large-format felt rings using traditional techniques, while her marzipan rings are formed in silver to give them lasting life.
Walter Schmalen’s work employ wood and stainless steel, combining natural material with industrial product. The clear forms of his lamps and small furniture pieces lend the creations sculptural character.
The cups and bowls of Kirsten Wittstruck achieve their convincing effect through clear form and a textile-like surface structure whose striped and dotted patterns shimmer through in delicate fashion.
