The young photographers Gerhard Kurtz and Axel Sündermann document urban spaces from their surroundings. Their work does not seek to rediscover those spaces, however. The photographers regard the city as a concept, as an interchangeable place. The selective cropping isolates the objects and displaces them visually from their original context. Among these portraits are the mobility-themed sculptures of Peter Nettesheim, which serve as photographic souvenirs of people we meet everyday.
