Claudia Hoppe, jewellery

Claudia Hoppe designs her jewellery using classical forms and materials that nevertheless surprise. Her bangles come without typical lock mechanisms, while the combinable bangles‘ provocative mix of materials (silver, gilded silver, colored plastic) and their interchangeable elements invite the wearer to experiment.

Claudia Hoppe on her own work:
"As a child I liked to play with paper. I was intrigued by the thin material and I liked the challenge of turning it into a three-dimensional fantasy object. A piece of paper could go through dramatic changes: One moment it could lie flat on the table - hardly visible from the side - and the next moment it would be voluminous and sometimes even capable of flying."
